Leonardo Delegation Visits African Nations to Enhance Collaboration

In a significant move to strengthen ties and foster collaboration, a delegation from Leonardo, led by Chairman Stefano Pontecorvo, is currently in Ivory Coast as part of the Mattei Plan. This initiative aims to support the African nation by presenting Leonardo with advanced technological solutions.

During their visit to Abidjan, the delegation has engaged in institutional meetings with key ministers, including those of Agriculture, Home Affairs, and Digitalization. The focus of these discussions has been on showcasing Leonardo’s technological applications across various sectors such as agriculture, cybersecurity, digitalization, and healthcare.

Leonardo’s expertise in cybersecurity, combined with the capabilities of Telespazio and e-Geos in geo-information, positions the company to address the needs of the Ivorian government effectively. The delegation has proposed cutting-edge solutions involving Artificial Intelligence, big data collection and analysis, and cloud computing, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure development.

Accompanying the Leonardo delegation in all institutional meetings were the Italian Ambassador to Ivory Coast, Arturo Luzzi, and the Ivorian Ambassador to Rome, Nogozene Bakayoko. The collaboration and support of these diplomatic representatives have further strengthened the ties between the nations.

Looking ahead, the Leonardo delegation will continue its mission by visiting other North African countries as part of the Mattei Plan. Having already visited Angola, this initiative highlights Leonardo’s commitment to fostering collaboration and providing technological solutions that can drive progress and development across the African continent.

The visits and meetings held by the Leonardo delegation signify a promising step towards enhanced cooperation and mutual growth between Leonardo and the African nations. Through the Mattei Plan, Leonardo aims to contribute to the advancement of critical sectors and support the development goals of the countries involved.
