The specialised website ‘Hoophype’ has made, using a metric that reveals the real value of basketball players, the ranking of the 20 lowest-paid players in the NBA in the 2022-2023 season.

‘Real Value’, which uses Global Rating as the main performance metric, is the new statistical measure to calculate the market value of each NBA player.

“Although you might be expecting to see a list full of players exceeding the expectations of their minimum or mid-level contracts, it’s actually the big-name stars who dominate this list, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the difference one superstar can make for a team’s fortunes in the Association,” explains Frank Urbina from ‘Hoopshype’.

Even if they’re on a max contract, superstar-level players in the NBA are so important that they can still be considered underpaid, as you’re about to find out.”
