That is a cause worth fighting, and one many politicians are embracing. In a recent interview, US Senator Ted Cruz predicted Trump and Republicans will unlock Bitcoin “like never before.” During the discussions, he talked about fighting regulatory oversight and making Texas a crypto hub.

“I’m proud to lead the fight to defend cryptocurrency from overreaching government regulation,” Cruz said. “I introduced legislation to prohibit the development of a central bank digital currency and to clarify that the Federal Reserve has no authority to do so unilaterally.”
Additionally, he discussed why Trump’s win was so important for Bitcoin. “Most congressional Democrats are deeply skeptical of Bitcoin. They don’t like that it creates individual freedom, privacy, autonomy, and independence from the government.”
“Republicans will unleash small businesses and cryptocurrency like never before,” he added. Conversely, he called the state of Texas “an oasis for Bitcoin.” Specifically, he noted the state has a “frontier mentality.” With low-cost energy a key facet of the state and low taxes, Cruz appears committed to making the state a major player in the global crypto industry.
