The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, has said that the ministry is on track to meet its annual target of 20,000 housing units across the country.

Dangiwa spoke during an engagement with the Special Assistant to the President on Policy and Coordination and Head of the Central Results Coordination Unit (CRDCU), Hadiza Bala Usman.

The engagement with the unit focused on the performance assessment report from quarter 1 to 3 2024 for the implementation of presidential priorities and ministerial outcomes of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

Dangiwa appreciated the continuous monitoring by the CRDCU team, saying it kept the ministry alert and ready to deal with issues, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Ministry, Salisu Haiba, said in a statement in Abuja yesterday.

The minister said that the Renewed Hope Cities and Properties programme currently has 10,112 housing units. under construction in 14 sites across the country, including 3,000 housing units in 12 flats at the rate of 250 units per state, under the N50 billion supplementary budget for 2023.

Also listed are 3,612 units in Karsana Renewed Hope City, with 1,500 units in Kano and 2,000 units in Lagos State.
