Denver Police Dept. officials revealed during a press conference Thursday that the officer who was hit by a firetruck at the Nuggets championship parade could lose his leg, according to TMZ Sports.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were riding the firetruck that struck and injured the cop. They did not sustain any injuries and were helped off the vehicle shortly after the incident.

The cop sustained a “lower leg injury” and is in “serious and stable condition,” the police department announced.

It’s still unclear how the situation unfolded, but the officer was participating in the ceremony.

Officials are currently investigating the incident, Denver PD said in a statement.

Several police officers came to the aid of their co-worker as Nuggets fans in attendance watched in shock.

Murray watched the scene unfold from the firetruck, looking down trying to decipher what was happening.

Once the officer was rushed to the hospital, and the firetruck was shut down, Murray lifted the Larry O’Brien trophy to cheer up the worried crowd.

Jokic and Murray went on to ride in a tank.
