The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16), is an objective that is especially important for several African countries, as political volatility, ineffective governance, and ineffective legal systems have frequently impeded development.

Achieving long-term stability and prosperity in the framework of sustainable development requires pursuing Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16), which is centered on advancing justice, peace, and robust institutions.

An African country with a high SDG 16 index score indicates great strides toward ensuring justice, lowering violence, and creating responsible institutions.

Subsequently, once a nation manages to achieve a peaceful society, it allows inhabitants to live free of violence and prejudice, and by extension bolsters overall economic development.

Additionally, access to justice protects people’s rights, while strong institutions promote equal access to public services including healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.

In summary, achieving the UN’s SDG 16 leads to increased economic activities, which fosters inclusive economic growth.

African countries with a high SDG 16 index, not only demonstrate their ability to govern effectively, they also stand as a cornerstone for sustainable development.

For said countries, this index offers a blueprint to unlock peace, prosperity, and inclusivity.

With that said, here are the top 10 African countries with the strongest justice system, according to the SDG 16 index found in the most recent Financing Africa report, by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
