Leidos has received a $331-million contract to optimize the US Army’s Global Unified Network (AGUN).

AGUN is the service’s standard network capability used to relay classified and unclassified data, voice, video, and other information assets across bases and deployed forces.

Under the contract, Leidos will deploy the AGUN to individual sites to maintain a standardized network infrastructure that is “accessible, trusted and interoperable” internationally.

By implementing the project, the army will receive an enhanced, zero-trust network architecture in accordance with its existing Network Modernization Strategy and Army Unified Network Plan, enabling a more secure communication system for all areas of operation.

“Winning this $331 million contract is a significant milestone for Leidos and underscores our commitment to supporting the US Army’s modernization efforts,” Leidos Digital Modernization Sector President Steve Hull commented.

“We are proud to partner with the Army in deploying the Global Unified Network, which will enhance interoperability and security across all levels of operations.”

“This initiative not only aligns with the Army’s Network Modernization Strategy but also aims to position us at the forefront of advancing military communication capabilities in an increasingly complex global landscape.”

Leidos accepted a $823-million task order in July 2024 to provide operations and maintenance for the US Department of Defense Network, which connects 30,000 to 160,000 users under the agency.

In 2023, the company received another contract to supply information hardware solutions for the US Army.
