The country’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, made this known during a senate meeting on Wednesday, where he noted that some of the talks are advanced.

“As we speak, 19 MoUs are being negotiated. We are quite advanced with Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Saudia and we have a rescue center in Saudi Arabia,” the Cabinet Secretary stated.

He also indicated that they are in search of resources to establish rescue centers throughout the Gulf area.

“This is not just in the Gulf area. In Germany, we are likely to be able to conclude by September,” he said when asked about the timeline for the completion of the negotiations.

“In the case of the UAE, we have more or less concluded (ACEPA) -A Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement- and part of the issues that we are alluding also now embedded in that agreement,” he said.

“So there is progress. Each country has its issues and we try to navigate on a bilateral basis with those individual countries. We will try to accelerate where possible,” he added.

The Cabinet Secretary also revealed that Kenya was on the lookout for slots for approximately 200,000 openings for jobs in various fields in the country.

He added that the slots aren’t restricted to workers and that a skills policy is being established to allow medical professionals and teachers to profit from the arrangement.
