The continent’s automotive market was projected to hit $20.5 billion in 2024 driven by the continuous production of locally-made vehicles. There are expectations of further growth to $26.3 billion by 2029.

South Africa, Morocco, and Egypt are leading in vehicle manufacturing and assembly. South Africa, for instance, continues to host major global automakers like Volkswagen and BMW and is set to produce its first electric vehicle by 2026.

Similarly, Morocco and Egypt capitalize on their proximity to European markets, enhancing their production capabilities and attracting international investment.
