The events of 2020 brought new challenges no one was prepared for, changing the way we live, the way we work, the way we perceive the world around us and how we connect with each other. Through it all, Jobberman stands firm and achieved so many milestones some could say may seem impossible in the midst of chaos.

For every win, milestone and memories made, we have our clients and amazing partners to thank. Here are our top milestones and memories made –

MILESTONES

Mastercard Foundation and Jobberman Partnership – Earlier this year, Jobberman partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to tackle unemployment in Nigeria. The partnership aims to train 5 million job seekers and place 3 million in dignified employment over the next five years. The partnership will impact young people living in the North, of which 70 per cent will be young women.

Unity in Adversity campaign – At the beginning of March, Jobberman saw a 70 per cent decrease in job listings due to the reduced economic activity caused by the enforced lockdown and many companies shutting down recruitment budgets to cut costs. Jobseeker sign-ups also decreased by 17 per cent. Jobberman took the bold step to put employers’ and job seekers’ needs first by offering free listings to every and anybody, despite the trade-off in revenue, making it easier for both parties to connect to new opportunities.

Launched the largest online soft skills training – Earlier this year, the globe was hit with the Coronavirus pandemic and in light of this, Jobberman being versatile and adaptable launched a free soft skills training program as part of its initiative to upskill 5 million Nigerians over the next 5 years and place at least 3 million of them in dignified work within the same period.

Acquired NGcareers – In September, Jobberman Nigeria and Ngcareers reached into an agreement where Jobberman acquired 100% of Ngcareers.com, Nigeria´s foremost online destination for job vacancies, recruitment insights, and career advancement tools.

Hosted Nigeria’s largest Virtual Career Fair – To facilitate talent attraction and place 3 million young Nigerians in dignified employment in the next five years, leading recruitment agency, Jobberman hosted Nigeria’s largest Virtual Career Fair in partnership with MasterCard Foundation. The virtual career fair had in attendance over 7,000 Nigerians including top professionals across different industries in Nigeria.

Jobberman x Coursera partnership – Jobberman partnered with the world’s leading online learning platform, Coursera, to offer its widely recognized soft skills training to empower young people with the skills required for career success. Jobberman is the first recruitment firm in Nigeria to have this unique private partnership with Coursera

Launch of Enugu Jobs portal in partnership with Enugu SME – Jobberman partnered with Enugu SME to launch a dedicated job portal for the industrious people of Enugu.

Launched Impact of Covid-19 report – Jobberman put together and launched a comprehensive report detailing factors such as trending industries, roles, skills, salaries/benefits and other major trends caused by COVID-19, as well as a forecast of the Nigerian job market. The Impact of COVID 19 on Nigerian Jobs Market and the Future of Work Report not only features insights into the impact of the pandemic but also serves as a guide for employers to make the right decisions in their job market.
