Global and Regional Leaders Gather to Tackle Border Security, Counter-Terrorism, Peace Operations, and More…

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia – The 12th Africa Security Symposium (ASEC2025), organised by PNYX Ltd. (UK), will be held from 10–12 June 2025 at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This pivotal event will bring together over 300 high-level delegates, including military, defence and police chiefs, UN stakeholders, regional security experts, government officials, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), to discuss solutions to Africa’s most urgent security challenges.

ASEC2025 will focus on key issues such as border security, countering terrorism and extremism, military operations, law enforcement, and displacement in the context of regional stability. With a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape, this year’s symposium will serve as a critical platform for advancing cooperation and strategic partnerships across Africa, the African Union (AU), the United Nations (UN), and Regional Economic Communities (RECs).

“We are excited to host the 12th edition of ASEC here in Addis Ababa, which is central to the African Union’s mission for peace and security,” said PNYX Ltd. “This symposium is an important opportunity for African and global stakeholders to collaborate and build sustainable solutions to security and humanitarian challenges in the region; crucially, bringing private sector specialists in for much needed support across the continent.”

Key Topics and Sessions

The symposium will feature a series of high-level panels and discussions centred on:

  • Border Security: Addressing the growing threats posed by porous borders and cross-border crime.
  • Counter-Terrorism and Extremism: Strategies for countering violent extremism and terrorism across the continent.
  • UN Peace Support Operations: Enhancing the effectiveness of peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts in volatile regions.
  • Military Operations and Law Enforcement: Strengthening regional military cooperation and enhancing law enforcement capacity to combat organised crime.
  • Displacement and Humanitarian Crises: Collaborative efforts to address the challenges of refugees, internally displaced persons, and migration.

Notable Speakers

Confirmed speakers include distinguished figures from the United Nations, African Union, and regional security organisations, as well as Secretary Generals, Regional Directors, Force Commanders, military chiefs, and policy experts from across the continent, including Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Angola, South Africa, Ghana, Djibouti, Lesotho, Madagascar, Nigeria, Namibia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, NATO, the EU and much more. The event will provide a unique opportunity for participants to engage in strategic dialogue, share best practices, and forge partnerships aimed at promoting regional stability and peace through PNYX’s pre-scheduled 1-2-1 PPP matchmaking meetings.

A Platform for Action

In addition to high-level discussions, ASEC2025 will feature workshops, exhibitions, networking and collaborative sessions aimed at building actionable solutions, particularly for border control, military operations, and counter-terrorism initiatives. The symposium will also explore the latest technological innovations and their potential to support security operations in Africa. ASEC dedicates the afternoon sessions to 1-2-1 matchmaking meetings between its public and private sector delegates.
